During these uncertain times, it is important that we all make the most of our summer by spending as much time outside as is possible, of course as well sticking to whatever rules and regulations the season may bring. If you are lucky enough to have home access to some form of outdoor space then I would urge you to use it for some fun this summer. Of course, you may need to make some space if you are going to be spending more time outside which could require the help of some battery powered string trimmers to deal with any plants or bushes that may have taken over your garden.
Lawn Darts
The first game on this list would have to be the classic lawn darts, this is a game that does require a bit of space so make sure you have plenty available before you start throwing any darts around. If you are looking for an activity to help pass the time then lawn darts may be the game for you, simply set up a scoring board and start throwing, you can either play by having a team count down from a number with the first to reach zero winnings or you could base it on whoever gets the most points, either way, this game is great competitive fun perfect for playing outdoors.
Bowls
This outdoor game is another pretty old one, however, that doesn’t make it any less fun. Simple bowls set can be purchased by many online retailers at very reasonable prices. This game consists of each player being assigned a colored ball which has to be thrown to be the closest to a smaller white ball. The player who manages to gauge their throw the best and get their balls the closest to the smaller one, points are awarded after each round and the player with the most points at the end of the game is the winner.
Garden Chess
Garden chess is pretty much the same as the standard game but the pieces are huge as well as the board, this game is great for those who are a fan of normal chess but want to add a fun twist as well as spending some time outdoors. Garden size chess sets make the normal game so much more hilarious to play as well as encouraging your loved ones to get some fresh air.
Archery
A garden game that is a little bit more specialized would have to be archery, this sport requires skill and precision but can be great family fun whilst encouraging your loved ones to do something different this summer. Archery sets designed for amateur use can be found online or at your local sports equipment retailer and let me tell you that the investment is definitely worth it. The sense of achievement when you hit a good shot on the archery board is second to none and the chance to get outdoors this summer is something we should all be grateful for.
Croquet
The final game on this list is croquet, this is another garden game that has been around for some time and it truly can provide hours of fun for all the family. The aim of the game is to make it through a course by hitting balls through small rings embedded in the ground using a long hammer tool. The player to get through the course by hitting the ball the least amount of times is the winner, this game does require a bit of space especially if you are wanting a big game so make sure your garden is big enough to accommodate.
